Summer Ending

After the shocking sudden death of Doc, the rest of the summer became a busy whirlwind of activity to help Rosemary and Aaron. We had to visit banks, lawyers, accountants, funeral homes, government offices, and the tenants of Gosworth multiple times to try to sort out all the things we need to get done. We had to try to sell the commercial property that Rosemary and Doc’s business own. We were lucky enough to find a commercial realtor who did just that. The only thing is that the closing date for the sale is October 31st. We also cleaned out Rosemary’s house and put it on the market to sell and looked for a place in Sidney for her and Aaron to move to. We thought we had found a couple of options but even after our offer was accepted, they accepted a backup offer and we couldn’t remove the conditions because we hadn’t sold Rosemary’s house. As luck would have it, a place two doors down went up for sale at the same time we listed Rosemary’s house.
What about the kids in all of this? They were very good. Most days they stayed at Wintercott with Nana and rode their bikes, climbed trees, played cards and watched TV or the iPad. They even made their own projector with an iPad, a shoebox and a dark room. Alex sometimes came with us when we had days where we didn’t have to be out all day. Anna and Grace had gone to Ontario on the 19th of July so they couldn’t play with them. TJ, Naeva and Eliza came for a weekend so it was great to see them again.
Kelly and I also cleaned out the basement of 75% of the stuff that we had in there - much of it was packed the week we rushed off to Vietnam 15 years ago. It was a monumental task but we were incredibly happy to get so much done.
